Isabel is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws and Arts conjoint majoring in Political Science and minoring Psychology at Victoria University. She is enjoying her studies immensely as they offer her skills in critical thinking and seeing the world through different lenses.
Isabel has always been enthusiastic about learning, specifically in the area of social sciences, and intends to use her skills in this field to become a human rights lawyer one day. Since she first began college Isabel has been passionate about encouraging and assisting her peers with their studies, taking part in a peer tutoring program for many years. Isabel left high school in 2018, meaning NCEA is fresh in her mind and she is very familiar with the system. She is available to tutor English, History, Art History, Drama and Business Studies.
Isabel is able to cater to students at all different levels and from all walks of life, and can alter her teaching style to tailor to specific students needs. She is a firm believer in holistic education, and believes there are many different factors that contribute to a students education, and their belief in themselves. As a mentor, she would not merely focus on content, but also other aspects of student learning such as study skills, time management and wellbeing. She hopes to encourage students to aim for the highest and succeed whilst maintaining a healthy balance.
