Katie
Hamilton TutorKatie Jones is a third-year student at the University of Waikato. She is studying towards a Bachelor of Arts, with a double major in English and History. Following the completion of her Bachelor of Arts, Katie will complete a Graduate Diploma in secondary teaching. She has thoroughly enjoyed her studies and is looking forward to the upcoming challenges that the next two years of her education will bring.
When she’s not studying, Katie loves to get outdoors, get involved and be active. Whether that be through netball, coaching netball, basketball, hiking or general fitness. She also enjoys spending lots of time with her family and friends. Katie is friendly and approachable, and can confidently tutor English, History, Physical Education and Media Studies. One of her personal goals is to facilitate a supportive learning environment, where students can grow and thrive.
She believes in step-by-step goal setting and positive reinforcement. While tutoring sessions will be centred around content, a large focus will be placed on developing problem solving skills and exam techniques. She is aware that each student is different, so she is committed to adapting and tailoring each lesson to suit the individual students needs. Katie is organised and communicates well with others; she focuses on creating and constantly improving her relationships with students and parents. Katie hopes to instil confidence in students and inspire them to achieve their goals.
