Kelly is studying a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours specialising in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Canterbury, with an interest in humanitarian and environmental applications. She enjoys the technical and problem-solving aspects of engineering, and is driven by it’s capacity to change lives for the better. Kelly can tutor English, Science, Maths, Economics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry and Calculus.
Kelly appreciates intellectual virtue and strongly believes in the lifelong skills and empowerment that we gain from our education. She believes that through the Holistic Model of Learning, students will be empowered to become independent learners and pioneer their own success. Kelly enjoys helping students set actionable goals that can be regularly revisited and adapted to ensure they are continuously self-improving. In her spare time,
Kelly enjoys running, spending time outdoors, and visiting new places. She is a flexible, attentive and approachable tutor who willingly adapts her teaching style to suit the individual needs of each student. She likes to find ways to make learning exciting and relevant to each student and initiate genuine enthusiasm for their studies. As a recent high school graduate, Kelly is familiar with the requirements for success in NCEA, and can work with students of all abilities up to excellence level in all subjects, as well as scholarship level for English, Economics and Geography.
