Our top tips to excel in Science
Break down the formulae
Although you don’t have to memorise the formulae, it’s a good idea to get comfortable using them. This means breaking down what each of the letters represent, including the units they’re measured in, and knowing what kinds of questions you’ll use each formula for.
Understanding the key terms in each topic
An important part of your study is learning the definitions of each new word you come across. Knowing the language of your subject is especially important in the sciences because you won’t be able to decipher and answer questions without it.
Relate ideas to your own life
It’s a lot easier to make sense of and remember ideas when you can relate them to the outside world. For example, when you’re learning about genetics, think about how that might relate to your own family history. Why don’t you and your siblings look exactly alike? Why do you have freckles when your dad doesn’t?
