Our top tips to excel in Physics
Be active in your learning
Physics isn’t a spectator sport, the best way to get good at Physics is to do it – you should be active in your learning by constantly engaging with the material; doing questions (both numerical questions and explanation questions), writing useful notes, and testing your understanding.
Really, it isn't a spectator sport
The other most important part of Physics is to get good at answering questions, and to do that you have to do questions. How many questions? As many as you possibly can. The best thing to do when you get a question wrong is to either read up on the concepts relevant to that question or read the marking schedule with the aim of understanding why they chose that method, then try to do the question later on till you feel confident.
Develop your understanding
Students may complete a handful of questions by just memorising what the answer says, instead of asking what it means. What an answer really means is much more important than the set of steps they used to get there, and therefore it’s important to look out for why an answer works, rather than just trying to memorise the steps. When confronted with a new question you need to be able to apply your knowledge of the concepts to a new scenario with different conditions that you’re used to.
