Our top tips to excel in Chemistry
Look at the marking schemes
Exam questions often fall into categories with consistent answers year to year. For example, the questions about shapes and polarity in level two and three are answered the same way. To gain a better understanding of how to answer questions, be sure to consult the marking schemes and make sure your responses cover all the relevant points.
Write answers in full
Practice writing out answers in full. It might seem easy to look at a question and believe you know how to answer it, but take the time to write everything out completely. If you overlook something during the exam, it could cost you valuable marks.
Know the math
Chemistry doesn’t involve too much math, but it can still be challenging for students. In particular, knowing n = c x V and m = n x M is crucial, and they can appear in exams unexpectedly. Being proficient with your calculator will help you navigate these equations more smoothly.
