Rhianna is currently in her second year at the University of Otago, studying towards a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Biochemistry. After completing First Year Health Science, Rhianna decided to direct her degree in the areas of health science that really fascinate her. Rhianna enjoys playing sport and going to the gym, but will also spend her free time relaxing with her friends or a good book. She is always eager to learn, and loves to travel and explore new places. Rhianna can tutor science, biology, chemistry and english.
Rhianna has previously worked as a teacher aide at a school in the UK, and found she loves being in an educational environment. She is enthusiastic about working one-on-one with the students and aims to cater to each individual’s strengths to make the learning environment in their lessons as beneficial as possible. She is passionate about helping students become confident in their learning and trying to get them to actually enjoy what they are learning, rather than viewing it as a chore. To do this, Rhianna likes to apply class content to real-life and relatable examples, wherever possible.
Rhianna also aims to help the students develop the essential skills and habits necessary to guide them to success in their academic endeavours, and will expose the student to all areas of the holistic model in order to achieve this. Rhianna believes having a fundamental understanding of concepts and ideas is essential and will always ensure a student has the necessary foundation before expanding to higher level concepts. She will always adapt lessons and tutoring styles to suit the student and their lifestyle. She will work hard to ensure that she helps the students reach the goals that they have, and is eager to aid the students to achieve their full potential.
