Laura is currently in her second year at the University of Otago and is studying a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, majoring in Functional Human Biology. She is passionate about medicine-based science and especially enjoys the neuroscience aspect of studying the human body. Although her future career is somewhat unclear, Laura would love to complete further post-graduate studies in the Health Sciences or Medicine.
Laura’s main subjects of tutoring are Biology, Statistics, Accounting, English, Year 9 and 10 Science (biological or physical) and primary school subjects. Laura would like to pass on her enthusiasm and passion for these subjects and help students to develop strategies that will help them to flourish not only throughout their school life, but also into their future. She is excited to see students grow, succeed and achieve their goals.
Laura is an approachable and dedicated tutor, who creates a fun and creative atmosphere in the tutoring session. She has experience working alongside students with a range of personalities and abilities, and has the belief that there are learning techniques out there that can help every student to succeed. Helping her dyslexic twin brother through the NCEA system has given Laura a good understanding of learning disabilities and how to overcome these. Laura loves seeing her students develop a love of learning.
