Karan is currently in the second year of studying a Law and Arts degree at the University of Auckland. He plans to work in the field of public policy and international law, advocating for the rights of marginalised groups. Karan has always been passionate about how society operates and he appreciates the problems facing it.
In his spare time, Karan enjoys playing the Cello, competitive debating and watching foreign films. He is a keen tutor and eager to spread his knowledge and enthusiasm for the Social Science subjects he will be tutoring. He is available to tutor History, English, Classics, Geography, Economics and Media.
Having graduated in 2017 as an NZQA Premier Scholar, Karan is knowledgable about the requirements of the NCEA system and what is necessary to succeed within it. He appreciates the support required by students in all levels to achieve to the best of their ability. His tutoring style depends on the preference of his students and their needs, being comfortable with a range of learning styles with experience tutoring over 15 students over three years. However, he firmly believes in holistic education; whereby a good tutor should focus on all aspects of a student such as study skills, mental health and time management, as opposed to being purely content-driven. He hopes to enable students to achieve to the best of their ability and gain all the successes that they desire.
